As much as i personally like Hellebuyck,
I just don’t think the Sabres are gonna trade for him

Our GM seems to be sticking to his “slow & steady” approach to this rebuild
And as much as that frustrates some of our fans, he’s done a great job so far & we have a bright future ahead of us

Nah. I feel pretty good saying a protected first would be the main piece from buffalo. He's a rental. Even if there's a bidding situation, teams will just walk away before including anything too valuable, rental goalie don't pull stuff like that.

Sabres aren't desperate. Protected 1st, UPL, and a good B-prospect (like Rousek) or Olofsson retained. That's as high as the Sabres go right now. If the Devils offer better, then so be it.

Even now, that seems like a lot for a one-year rental. We might get better results saving those assets for the TDL.
