Petry should get more than that. Not saying he'll get a Kings Ransom. But at half retention? More than a 3rd.

Plus, Dallas does not have the cap space to take both players!! Petry only wants to play east coast, with 15 team no trade close.. it gets complicated??

Petry half retained gets as much or more than Chiarot at the deadline and if wehave to take back a contract add a 3rd to it. Most likely value for a half retained Petry is 1st + 2nd

Just the retention alone is worth more then that. Mtl can start the season with Petry and wait for a team to panic. You need depth on defense if you want to win in playoff. Not all the team are stacked like Colorado or Carolina. Florida lose Ekblad or Montour for a extended period of time and they are in caca. This is always the same story, it’s always about the offer and the demand. And since Rhd are a rarity their will be team that will pay the asking price.

They wont trade Petry unless they get something tangible. They arent the Pens trying to dump salary. Dont let others quote the recent trades this Summer as anything other than a lack of leverage. Timing is everything. Montreal has all the time in the world to get value of a top4 RHD at 2.4M AAV.

A retention spot alone could be worth a 3rd at the deadline as a broker.

If hes moved with 50% retention, it is for at least a 2nd and an ok prospect
