PTOs Carter staying

Created by: pensfan21

Description
Don't think Carter will be going anywhere. Just don't see a scenario where he's moved. Think Bailey is a good PTO option. Scored 40 2 years ago on a defensive Islanders team and we wouldn't have to worry about him scoring big goals against us. Puljujuvari would be good for a defensive bottom 6. And Suter I'm surprised isn't signed, but if he's still available this could work.

I’m all for adding cheap players like Poolparty or Suter. POJ and Smith simply can’t be together though.

Main thing is I just want to see Ty Smith play. Ruhwedle will probably be a better option. I'm in favor of giving both POJ and Smith time and whoever impresses more stays and the other can be traded to improve the bottom 6 at TDL. Or have a training camp battle. I think Ruhwedle with one of them is a better pair, but I don't think them together would be catastrophic. Just since we have Karlsson and Letang now I think the 3rd pair will be extremely sheltered.

Neither of them really play defense. We would be better off trying to find more defensive minded Dman because we already have all the scoring we could ever need out of Tanger and EK.

Lot's of talk around Tatar. He had a good season last year and is still out there for some reason. I don't know how he would fit in, but if there is a spot I'd like him for depth.

Would definitely like to add him, I just don't know how we do with the cap.

That's why I think one of them could be used in a move to improve bottom 6 at the TDL. I like Peeke from Columbus but don't know how we'd fit him under the cap. Overall I feel really good about the team, I would prefer to either add one more fast or Hornqvist/Tanev type gritty player at the deadline, but think were in pretty good shape going into camp.

I don't either, but there was apparently a report yesterday he confirmed he was in talks with a few clubs about a 1 year deal. Pittsburgh was mentioned as 1 of the teams. I can't find the article though so I'm taking it with a big grain of salt.

Unfortunately I don’t see us adding a Dman in the 2 million plus range unless there’s a significant injury somewhere. I’m thinking more along the lines of Bogosian, Bobby Bortuzzo reunion, and Seeler who would be my first preference but dealing with Philly likely isn’t fun.

Bortuzzo would be a good idea I think. I agree though, I think any money we have should be used on helping the bottom 6, with the exception of those guys since they'd replace Ruhwedle's cap on the right.

Puli’s a zilch, waste of a roster spot.

Maybe even ZAR too? I would've like Pul a lot, but I totally forgot about the double hip surgery.

ZAR and Nieto with Eller/Acciari centering could end up being a pretty good shutdown 4th line.
