Sharks won't be using their last retention spot to retain on Rutta for 2 years for a measly return.

Canes pass. There's nothing there to replace Pesce, and they don't have the RD depth to move him otherwise.

Both the Canes and Sharks pass. Very doubtful that Brett Pesce waives for Vancouver. And the Sharks aren't using their last retention on Jan Rutta.
