Because next summer he's UFA. So, Habs will have more place on cap space $$$. This trade is pure $$$.

What do you do with Barron, Harris, Guhle, etc?

A logjam.on D is already there. Adding to it males zero sense.

and allen is off the books the followin year anyways, which is when they will actually need that capspace. At this point Myers being there is a wasted opportunity for one of our young dman.

Canucks pass. Would rather have 1 year of Myers at 6M than 2 years of Allen at 3.85M
