Description

I know the retention is the issue but it seems kindve weird a young burner like Joseph hasn't been moved yet. I'd guess teams don't want to have that kind of cap hit for someone they'd assume regressed to a 4th liner. He already knows Tampa's system so I can assume jbb can trust hed be able to rebound here.

Both Myers and ABB can just be sent down that's what Tampa would've done with them. Plus they're both ufas next season

The point of moving Joseph is to create cap space. Retaining salary doesn't do that.

The retention in this ACGM brings Joseph AAV to 1.785 which would make him a bargain. In that case, he'd return a pick without taking any salary back.

In this ACGM, on top of the retention, Ottawa would have to take Myers who has a 1.4 AAV, a player they don't need or have a spot for. And also Barre-Boulet who they would have to pay $775,000 to play in the AHL

Really bad trade for Ottawa
