Drop Ylönen and Bäck from the deal and it's more plausible for Dallas to take in.

DAL would just lose Ylönen to waivers.

I concur to say that Steel would be waived instead of Ylonen.

I know it is for fun and fun is still allowed. But with that said I think NYR should take that. But don't think MTL should offer it. Easiest for all if LAFFY just stay put.

Steel is at least a proven NHL forward, although he's likely set to be the 14F. Likely gets waived if Stankoven makes it through the camp.

Addition of Ylönen is just pointless.

I think the Rangers and Habs win in the long term. Laffy can thrive here and Farrell in NY!

it's a rare 3-way where Winnipeg pile up on many pieces so they can still move Scheifele without hurting the transition (Scheifele vs Swayman or Ullmark in Boston for example). Habs get a real 1b goaler and their 2nd round back. Devils got one of the best goalie half priced. It's kind of lopsided, but somehow fix many holes at the same time for a short amount of time which all these teams need.

how much to get Bäck in the deal if I take out Ylonen ? a 3rd ? a prospect?

      3rd is probably fair

I think the Jets would rather have Vitek, Stillman and the 1st from NJD without taking on Dvorak and swapping 2nds. If that's the best available at the deadline, it seems easier to just do a two-team trade.

Sure, as long as there's retention it doesn't matter from NJ's POV

You need to take into account the retention and the many trades you will be doing to fulfill your quick retool/rebuild. Dvorak and Allen are stop-gap before other deals. Also if you deal Scheifele and Allen both at 50% for Swayman + 1st + rookie you still manage to upgrade your team while Boston gets a 2nd goalie to play with Ullmark.
