Drouin is better off the wing. Is defensive liability are less exposed.

I could see us sending out a couple PTO's to players who can step in as depth similar to these guys but i'd think at least one would need to be a center if meyers doesn't work

Agree. Right now the three major questions are Drouin, Meyers, and an open RW position on the 3rd or 4th line. Regardless of what happens with Drouin and assuming we don't bring anyone else on, we still need two guys (Meyers, Foudy?) to step into NHL roles and stick. I'd be way more comfortable bringing on at least one B6 forward as insurance.

i know he doesn't really fit into a line 4 role but i don't see why we wouldn't extend nolan patrick an offer. 1x1 deal, if he gets injured again he's likely done hockey if not he is still a solid player who can play rw and center. colton can move to 2nd wing if drouin isn't working and patrick to 3c or vice versa. then when kovalenko comes in wood can move to line 4 and pk minutes with cogs and hopefully a veteran 4C man from a trade

Drouins skating is mostly in tact, he can still fly around when he wants to. He’s still a dangerous passer and will absolutely rack up points on the PP if he sees Minutes. Thing is he can’t shoot at all anymore due to wrist injuries and teams know this, this is what made him go from a 5M player to a league minimum guy.
