There's no incentive for Winnipeg to overpay for a goalie they don't need.

Penguins do that in a heartbeat, Carter on the other hand probably says no. (he has a full-NMC)

If they trade Helly, they'll likely have a goalie coming back. If not, there are far better options than overpaying for a prospect. Wasting assets on silly moves is never a smart option.

The other part of the Penguins trade is I'm not sure how keen Trotz would be to move a forward he just signed this offseason and increase the cap hit by about 2.4 mil for slightly more production (maybe if Carter doesn't fall even more off the cliff he began falling off of 3 years ago).

Askarov is a better prospect than McGroarty.

I disagree. Goalies are voodoo, I'd rather the jets keep the prospect with a better chance of being an impact player.

Carter isn't going anywhere, but yes, I'd make that trade if possible.

I gotta disagree with that assessment. I think a top starter can have a lot more impact than a 2nd line winger.

Love that from a Dallas perspective. Just not sure how the salary would work.

That's a possibility. But as I said, goalies are voodoo and far harder to predict a trajectory for than any other position.

Skeptical Askarov is on the market. The timeline is perfect for him to succeed Saros.
