No thanks from Detroit. We have alot of really good young LHD coming up and Lindholm is going to be 32+ when we are competitive and making too much money.

Maybe one of those guys but not both depending on the eagerness to extend

Instead of giving up all that I think Yzerman rather will sign them for free next summer.

I would hope Columbus takes that deal. I think Backlund's a great fit.

I disagree with this. I like the idea of having 2 (true) veteran centers in there to mentor the young guys, however this leaves you with Fantilli, Sillinger, Voronkov, Kuraly, Backlund all as true centers. Plus Roslovic, Jenner, Johnson and possibly Laine as guys that prefer or are better suited for the position. Add in the cost of a former first round pick that hopefully turned the corner late in the season, a second and third rounder all for a guy that is likely gone after one year or maybe the deadline and I just don't see how this makes sense for us. Maybe at the cost of Roslovic and a second I am on board with it, but this feels like way too much to give up to likely miss the playoffs and not add a long term piece.

Jenner is best as a winger (who can take faceoffs), Roslovic's proven he has no business in the middle, Voronkov could break in on the wing for now before moving to the center, Laine is absolutely not best used in the middle, and Johnson's not ready for high-lineup duty in the middle yet.

Foudy is a bottom-6 winger at best, and is well worth the price. Backlund has experience with Gaudreau, and could allow Fantilli to take lower-leverage shifts early in his career. Plus, Backlund is good on the dot. And who knows? Maybe he extends.
