Description

I expect that Skjei and Pesce will be the premier defensemen in the 2024 UFA class and will command 8 year pacts to lower their cap hits. Florida and Buffalo, respectively, both make sense as destinations.

Nosek, Rees, Suzuki, and Okposo all compete to be wingers around Jack Drury. Jones and Morrow compete for the 6D spot next to Chatfield.

If that's the costs of getting Pesce, Sabres should do it, and then figure it out tbh

Well sure for that, like 8 above said. I would do that without a Extension in place and then see where it goes from there. Can't see Buffalo signing him to a 8yr Extension though.

The AAV's of both D men are low. We know Pesce wants 7 mil over 8, and Skjei's not going to take less than 6. He'll be a season removed from an 18 goal campaign no matter what happens.

Necas $7.2m X 8 seems a bit high. I’d guess $6m x 6 years.

Jarvis $3.2m x 2 years a bit low. He either gets locked up long term, or signs 1-year low-dollar deal (to get to arb-eligible RFA years).

Ohh, well then. But I guess, 8 yrs could drop AAV, which is the most important thing there. But not sure if 3rd is too high for Canes for that.

The precedence for my proposed Jarvis bridge was the Necas bridge, except 200K more per season.
