It all depends if they rebuild or retool, judging by how this management operates a retool is what you can expect and I bet you'll be disappointed in the return you get for Petterson

Pettersson won't be traded until next offseason at the earliest when Nylander is a UFA. This makes absolutely no sense

Pettersson for Nylander is intriguing.
Blueger Brodie Jarnkrok don't mean nuthin tho.
TOR needs to give more so it won't happen.

Even if they went to retool this is a horrible trade. They'd have no good centre options outside of Miller and only Raty as a prospect coming up. This management has faults but they're way smarter then to get older and worse in a Pettersson trade

Rebuild or retool, they won't be trading anything of value for two players who are UFA's at the end of the season. Trading Pettersson would be disappointing and anything short of a king's ransom will probably be a disappointment to Canucks fans, myself included.

I am of the mind that they should have done a mini rebuild/retool 2 seasons ago when Miller was having a huge year and had a year and a half term left. Now I am not sure they can retool very easily. A trade like the Tkachuk trade may be what you can look forward to. If Petterson says he wants out. I'd sooner try to move Miller, Boeser and whoever else and hope one or two bad seasons can lead to a big jump ahead. The one step back 2 steps forward idea.
