Andersson would honestly be perfect in Buffalo, If Calgary we’re looking to move him

Seeing what the Calgary is going through much like Buffalo a few years ago I think them picking up Krebs would be a great addition.

I agree, trade is pretty reasonable for getting a Top 4 RD, adding some young pieces and some picks for Calgary, and they’re not too young that they won’t be seeing time in the NHL this year as Krebs is already an NHL’er same with Jokiharju, not sure how far along Johnson is though (I’m sure you’d know better then me lol) so kind of works out well for both teams!

Interesting as ****. If I'm the Canucks & Flames I probably accept this deal, and this would make Buffalo contenders for years to come. Might honestly have overpaid for Petterson, would rather throw in Benson than Östlund

Either Dahlin 1 for 1 or a package starting with one of Thompson/Power/Cozens if you want Pettersson

He's not, he's probably gonna be named captain soon. And if he were traded it would take a better offer than this to get him

I disagree. I don't see it's reasonable for BUF to acquire Andersson without giving up any of their premium pieces. I'd be asking for Quinn, an unprotected 2024 1st and one of Benson/Savoie

Look at what Seth Jones returned. Then remember that Andersson is better and signed to a dirt cheap contract for 3 more years. If anything, your offer is the LOL worthy one

I mean assuming dahlin and power sign extensions it is just not reasonable to expect to get any of them in a return for a guy without a contract who won't sign with you (only scenario he's traded)

Its 2 years considering this is next year.

Just because one GM did something dumb doesn't mean everyone does.

I offered up quite a lot as many people above stated

Also no one knew the 2nd pick would be so high and Columbus included a 1st

I’m sure Quinn is off the table in any deal. 2024 1st, 2025 2nd that can have some condition like if Buffalo makes it past Rd 2 in 2025 2nd flips to 2025 1st, Krebs and another prospect is probably all they offer, although (I’m not a Buffalo fan though) I’d include Savoie if needed. Although if Savoie has already been moved for Pettersson as in this AGM, this is probably as good of an offer you’d get. But I see what you’re saying as Calgary wouldn’t want to move him anyway and would take an overpay.

Yeah, but you’re giving up a lot of mediocre pieces is the thing. Keens is trending to be a 3C which I don’t scoff at, Johnson looks like a 3rd pairing stay at home D and Jokiharju is probably a 3rd pairing guy for his career. If you want Andersson, I’m sure you’d agree a very valuable asset, i don’t see why we would trade him unless we’re getting multiple premium assets in return

Well if that’s all we got offered then I’d be happy to keep our 26 year old number 1 defenceman, who’s our best player and only making $4.5m.
Buffalo fans keep making Andersson offers and frankly very few of them come even remotely close. I get why they want to low ball, but Andersson isn’t the type of asset you can pull those tactics with. There would be a league-wide bidding war for him

Love Andersson! Great player! I did a few AGM when Stone was still here with Andersson to Ottawa! Wish that was a reality lol

Haha I’m glad it never happened! Although we did almost acquire him at the 2019 deadline, but I don’t think Andersson was part of the rumored deal. Iirc it was a 1st and Valimaki?

Yeah think it was something along those lines! I think it was almost a done deal until Vegas offered up Brannstrom. It’s taken a while but at least Brannstrom looks to finally be coming into his own! Andersson would’ve been a home run but I bet Calgary management gave Ottawa a hard no on that one lol

If Stone was willing to extend then maybe, but he had no interest in Calgary. Which tracks since apparently no one wants to play here lol

I don't think Andersson is available, or will be available. Either he or Weegar will be the next Flames captain. It's a good package, but I have a hard time gauging value here. Unfortunately I don't see the Flames rebuilding just yet, that's why something around Andersson for Tuch seems more realistic from where I'm standing.
