Description
Beck is the only option I see as even being remotely close to challenging for a spot and I think he could get the 9 games with Dvorak missing the start of the year, after that he'll be sent back to Peterborough.

I doubt Wideman is being waived, they want him with the team
If DeSmith was worth something with his full cap hit, PIT would have traded him prior to the 3 way trade involving E.Karlsson

Idk why Canucks fans still decline this, Desmith is a high-level backup. Demko could rest more and we wouldn't have to start Martin and the Arty Party could develop more playing most games in the AHL. Good move for both teams tbh

Cause he can shoot the puck well from both sides, if he can develop to play on the Right it allows for Newhook to still be inside the top 6, otherwise he'd be the 3C and when Dvorak is back he'd be 3LW.

Taking the pressure off him of being a Center might make him a solid LW for two big bodies of Dach and Slaf

I thought about this and theres ways to make it work

one way I thought about it would've been adding Savard and Myers to the deal but MTL likely adds a pick or a Mid-Low end prospect since myers is up at the end of this year vs Savard having the extra year

You missed an important factor in adding Savard and Myers. Montreal isn't moving a French Canadian boy whome they really really like in a leadership role to help develop the younger guys coming up
