Only way Boston i can see Boston trading for Backlund is as a deadline addition if they are contenders. Which i’d be surprised if they were. If that was the case you are not getting a roster player back. Be a 2nd and mid prospect..

They don’t have the cap space to do a deal without including a player outside of paying for double retention, my guess is if a deal like this is happening, it would include Forbort or Grz, retention, and a pick or prospect going’s Calgary’s way (not any of our top 5)

At the deadline - his remaining cap hit would be minimal.

No idea what B’s situation will be through roster maneuvering and LTIR, etc. but most likely they could take his full 30-40 day cap hit or close to it.
