Do you think the $5m/year is fair? Overpay? If anyone can develop this guy into a legitimate top 6, 2-way centre it's probably Boston

Ottawa is not trading Pinto.

Sens have 900k of cap space with a 20 man roster.

After this they still do.

Trading Pinto for futures does not help their cap situation at all or make them better.

They will move Joseph/Branstrom which will give them the space to sign Pinto and fill the open slots.

Lastly. Never….ever….listen to Jimmy Murphy.

I get that it's not super likely, but very often, people say the same thing in regards to trades that actually do end up materializing in the NHL. Crazier things have happened than Ottawa trading a 22 year old 3rd line centre they believe they can replace for cheaper with an upcoming Greig and who they can't agree on a contract with. For example, Brannstrom is not enough cap space on his own, and maybe the price on dumping Joseph is too high (1st rounder).

Ullmark is not worth two 2nd Rd, one 3rd Rd and one 4th Rd pick.

Are you missing a word? "Ullmark is worth *more than* - "? "Ullmark is *not* worth - "?

Pinto on a 2 year bridge deal probably looks like $2.5 AVV, with the trick that it's back loaded to pay him $4 million in year 2, so his next rfa qualifying offer has a $4+ million starting bid.

Overpay

As of now yes. But in 2-3 years he should be worth that

What I don’t understand is why people are not talking about a 1 year bridge. The guy has zero leverage… I mean, if Dorion can’t get that done… after being able to sign the whole core?

Why would he be worth Noah Cates money? Cates had Calder and Selke votes while producing more. He’s also closer to UFA status and had arbitration rights

LA only does that if they get desperate around TDL.
