It's just brutal for a 6th place team in the division to have these cap issues.

Sabres were there during botterills tenure. It'll eventually get better.

They have 5 mill in buyouts and retentions. I think that’s what’s killing them. They should have about 14 mill in cap space next summer (assuming Joseph or Forsberg don’t get moved) and they will have 2 1st round picks.

They will be in a much better position next summer

I don’t really see the Flyers doing that. I would do it for a 3rd but considering Seeler can fetch a 4th maybe 3rd at the deadline if he has another good year there are other options for the flyers available that would be cheaper and probably better like Joki from Buffalo

Brannstrom is better than a 2nd round pick. Under normal circumstances, I’d keep him even if offered a 2nd . Take this and run tbh

If he can’t crack the top 7 of ur defense then we will agree to disagree on his value. I have seen plenty of Sens fans on here saying he will probably be a 3rd pairing maybe reach 2nd pairing so not interested in spending much on him when like I said there are cheaper options available with the same projection

He was a very good 2 way D in 3rd pair mins. Deserves a shot in the top 4 to see if he can replicate the same results

Only really tight for one year. Long term they're in a very good spot. Whole core is locked up through their prime. One Year of being really up against it will become worth it 100 times over when guys like Stützle and and Tkachuk (and Sanderson imo) are making 8mil when they should be making somewhere from 10-15mil.

He's easily top 6 for Ottawa lmao. He's their 5th D, and he's a very strong one. If he ends up being the cap casualty, it's really going to hurt Ottawa's defensive depth, especially if Tyler Kleven isn't ready for the NHL this season.

Trading for Debrincat was such a weird decision. They can't even re-sign Pinto so how the heck did Dorion think they can fit in another 8M player in Debrincat?😅

Having looked into his game over the dead months of summer I can definitely say that this package is something we should 100% take, especially with the state of our blue line. Super smooth skater and a good puck mover, something we don't have much of on this team. Also can play the right side, so

No the way I want to trade Brannstrom. Trade him for a young forward still on his ELC, which would give the Sens over 2.0 in cap space, well enough to sign Pinto on a 1 year bridge

Brannstrom was already Elite at #5 D-man at 23 y/o, looked even better when Chabot got injured, based on his advanced stats and the eye he could probably be on a 2nd pairing and thrive
