Description

Mack and lecky have some great chemistry so I think they should stay together with drouin at least at the start..
Rantanen will be the guy on line 2 with nuke doing all the hard work and johansen winning the draws, hopefully seeing the opposing teams 2nd best match ups.
Line 3 is a total unknown since they're all new but they have speed grit and Tatar as the shooter I expect them to do very well this year.
Cogliano and LOC are solid 4th liners and the job is between meyers and foudy at 4C but I've put meyers there for now but could change if foudy has a good camp.
I gave marnanlanen the contract because of his nhl experience, PK ability, and the fact colorado has worked all summer to get bigger and tougher which he has over Holland and kirivanta.

Defense is self explanatory, Cale and toews are the best D team in the league.
Byram is the 3rd best dman and I feel like if Manson is healthy he would be a great partner because he's more defensive minded.
Johnson and Girard are basically the Wish version of Byram and Manson so it is likely they also play together.
Malinski is going to take his opportunity and make the most of it waiting to rotate in because of injury or slow play.
Macdermid will probably only draw into the lineup if they play a Minnesota or other rival team with a heavyweight in the lineup early in the season where they don't need the pts as much as later in the season.
Annunen gets the early backup job unless the avs are able to claim Marty Jones off the waiver wire in October.
Georgie is the #1 guy again this year in net

If RyJo can't regain his form with those two on his wing, then I don't know what it would take. I actually like that line quite a bit.

The first line worries me a little bit. Lehkonen is good, and Drouin could be much better in his new situation, but it may not be quite good enough overall.

So mixed feelings overall. I wouldn't be opposed to trying this but also wouldn't be surprised if one of Nuke or Rants needed to move up.

Ya that's possible, this is just to start the season, we know mack and mikko play well together but we may need to spread the wealth 5v5..
So from what insaw last year nuke and lehkonen on the same line isn't a very good thing which is why I have them separated..
Stylistically I feel like the lines mesh

Yeah, at first I wanted RyJo surrounded by Finns but I think this makes more sense. Let Mack shoulder the weight of the top line and hope that Drouin can build on his already decent set-up skills. And we have Tatar who can pop anywhere in the lineup at any time as well.

The Avs never carry 23 players. I still think it's a mistake to just hand Meyers the 4C job; he has 10 games of waiver eligibility and the Avs should use that for when there are injuries but they don't seem too interested in making him earn it.

Ryjo playing with rantanen and nuke makes the most sense, pretty solid big line for the avs

I don't disagree with any of that. I have had Nuke up with Mack and Drouin in my mind. As much as I love Lehk, Nuke is a better player when he's around, and I think he gives Mack a little more help (also adds size to that line). But I also get that Mack and Lehk have done well together in the past, so I'm not opposed to trying that.
