Description
See if Puljujarvi can get the "Backlund Bump", defensive minded player playing with Coleman and Backlund feels like a really good fit. If it doesn't work out in the first month or so, Coronato to the big club and Puljujarvi to the moon. And it's funny if it works out.

The Avs won't be looking to add that much cap for a temporary backup goalie, or pay that much to acquire one. Unless it's cheaper and with retention, Colorado likely looks elsewhere.

I kind of figured that would be the case when looking through Colorado's cap page, they don't really have a contract to move out that would make this deal reasonable for both sides and I don't think Calgary will want to retain for two seasons as they notoriously are against paying guys to not play here.

That depends on if it's temporary. If Francouz is shutdown for 5 months at least a young 1B goalie with no injury history is probably your best bet

Yeah I wouldn't expect Calgary to retain. It's why I think this deal doesn't make as much sense as others do.

In terms of Frankie being out long term, yeah that could change things. But unless he's out for the year, then you have to account for what happens when he returns. I think the Avs will look to get someone they can fully bury if need be.
