Tippett had a great year last year. This is for hoping it wasn’t a one off. Holmberg is a top C prospect that is ready to play in the N. Robertson if healthy can be a big asset with top speed and a top notch shot. Plus a 1st, I don’t think is outrageous

They might get something for him at the deadline if he is close to his 20 goal pace from last year.

Man he was drafted in the 6th round he’s not a top prospect lol. Robertson is worth nothing because he is never healthy. The Flyers have no reason to trade Tippett just to bet on the health of a player and a 6th rounder.

Once in a while 6th rounders make it. Holmberg played some games last year and looked pretty good. If I was a Flyers fan I wouldn’t want to trade Tippett either at 1.5M but he is do for a pretty decent raise if he comes close to the year he has last year. Leafs probably couldn’t afford to keep him anyway unless he outperforms Bertuzzi or Domi.

the leafs d gets worse with this trade, their forwards get worse with this trade, and their prospect and draft pool gets worse with this trade, literally nothing about this trade is good for the leafs

You are a little over dramatic Herb. Jarnkrok doesn’t fit in the lineup and we need that cap savings. Niemela is a small offensive D. Don’t see him fitting on the Leafs anytime soon.

there are better ways to clear cap than this, this aint it even in the slightest. niemala has more upside than stanley who was a healthy scratch on a bad jets team, treliving would laugh in chevys face

I get that 6th rounders make it but he’s not a top prospect and he would be buried on the Flyers in favor of plenty of in house guys already. Robertson would be great if he could stay healthy but there’s no reason to make that bet til he proves it. They see Tippett as a core guy and won’t part with him easily

Robo's a broken down machine and if he's gonna regain any value he's going to have to play another season before anyone takes a bet on him. Flyers hopefully learned not to gamble on LTIR regulars after Ellis.

Holmberg's a decent player but he isn't anything really desirable, he's also the same age as Tip to the whole "get younger" mindset doesn't work with it.

A 1st is always nice but its gonna be a late 1st which will take its value down a bit.

Overall the Flyers decline. Tippett is seen as a potential core piece and this move would just be a huge gamble that really doesn't have good odds of paying off.
