I mean considering they've even allowed him to talk to other teams this past summer, it's probably just a matter of price.

Avs are no longer compatible as trade partner with the Leafs since signing Tatar they have no cap space for this,
This had potential to be a possibility a couple of weeks ago but not anymore.

The value is there. the Canes would have to find a team that will take Robertson and the first, with other pieces if needed, to get a legitimate upgrade at forward. And someone else would have to do the retaining
