Thomson's not that swell of a prospect and would just be a roster filler who could at best become a decent guy, Kubalik doesn't have any value to the Flyers unless we try to flip him, which would all depend on how well his season goes, and Joseph is owed 3 million a year for the next three years and has never reached 20 points. If it came with some draft picks instead of "here's Kubalik do the work yourself" than maybe they'd consider it.

Build Lassi Thomson as a player. There is injuries during a season, let him compete for games with guys like Zamula, Staal, Seeler, etc. You're rebuilding for C's

Joseph will bounce back and you have a good bottom-6 forward that you could even retain on down the road to get another asset
