Well first, Suter isn't waiving his NMC to go to Winnipeg. Second, Hellebuyck is from Michigan. So "home" would be Detroit.

Also...Oettinger has been the better goalie over the last two years and is significantly younger. Hellebuyck is still a good goalie, but give me the younger Oettinger who is already putting up better numbers. Pretty quick and easy "no" from Dallas.

This makes no sense for Dallas. They wouldn't even do Oettinger for Hellebuyck one-for-one, never mind throwing in all those extras. They'd be crazy to give up one of the best young goalies in the league who's signed for two more years and then a RFA after that for an older rental with a significantly higher cap hit. Even if you think Hellebuyck is better, he's not that much better.
