Calgary can get under the cap by trading Vladar for a mid round pick or sending one of their depth d-man down (like Gilbert or Oesterle

Ottawa not moving Kastelic, can't see them spending more than a 2nd round pick to move Joseph's contract, if that's the option they have chosen. Even then, they might just rather move someone else

Calgary is over the cap by a couple hundred thousand. We can easily send down eithet Oesterle or Gilbert and be under the cap

Not giving up a second for a guy that‘s a cheap buyout. Evans coming back doesn’t up the value either. Just less salary coming off the books

Come on man, it's been a recurrent theme on CF for a long time now. I remember when the Sens were looking to move Zaitsev and Murray contracts (who were real cap dumps, compared to Joseph who is a cap casualty), people were asking for 1st+ for each... turned out it was much less than that
