And Jonathan Toews isn't playing this year, he's taking the year off. Already been reported.

He said he wasnt signing in the summer. He may still sign later....as in Dec or whenever the cutoff date is.

I do not see the logic for the Jets to even consider this. Tanev is not a significant enough upgrade over Schmidt (if at all) to give up a promising young player and a 1st round pick to acquire.

December 1st is the cutoff for RFAs, not UFAs. The trade deadline is the cutoff for UFAs.
