So a couple questions-
Do the McLeod and Foote contracts count long term on the cap (into playoffs)? Same with contracts, do they come back to us or is it a done deal. If so, does Dougie become a ltir move?

Right now, they are on the roster, just not playing (like Hughes or Palat). Everything still counts.

Eventually they will be put into a “non-roster” bucket, which is treated like IR (we gain the roster spot, but cap still counts).

If they are suspended, they go into suspended list (for off-ice infractions) and they won’t collect pay, so won’t count against cap and won’t count against roster limit (but I think still counts against max number of contracts).

If found in violations of SPA rules, it would allow league or team to terminate contract altogether, so won’t count against roster limits, cap or number of contracts.

There is a chance there was a pre-negotiated deal between league and NHLPA for this situation (not like it came out of blue) that would allow players to be quickly moved into suspension or termination. Hockey Canada still has a blanket ban against the entire 2018 WJC team until there is final resolution (so that includes players like Cale Makar). I would imagine once arrested, the five players will take more of punishment and the league, HC and PA will try to ease the burden on the others. But who knows.

What are the rules around moving guys from LTIR back to IR?

I think once they no longer need LTIR, they automatically go back to IR…not sure if there is an official transaction or not.

Ahh alright. So basically just no accrual for the time being then once we don't need LTIR we start accruing again

Every time our dmen get control in d-zone…watch the first pass. Say “yahtzee” every time it misses mark.

This is what we need to fix more than anything.

I’d like a better strategy on the PK and PP. Seems like we give up entries way too easily, and on the other side constantly let the opposing PK get completely set up with every entry

Also feels like we just throw passes in the general direction of the front of the net without purpose

Count how many times we give up possession just throwing it to the front

Any many of the successful exit passes end up coming from forward-to-forward…or are carry outs.

I'd like to see the team be more patient in the offensive zone.

Jack, Nico, Bratt and Mcleod were/are fantastic at holding possession, waiting for opportunities to open up, breaking defensive structure, and then making a move/pass when it's open.

I feel like a lot of the other guys get into the zone and are just trying to get it to the middle at all costs, whether it's a devil there, or 3 defenders all in the lane.

I love letting the PK get completely set up. 8 guys standing at the blueline and forcing us to carry through the most crowded spot on the ice. And even if we take it in none of our guys have their feet moving or any speed

Every time I watch Luke Hughes have to make that stupid drop pass I cringe.

Jack, Meier, Hughes, Bratt, Mercer, Nico, Luke, Nemec etc can all hold the puck and skate with it.

But no it's stagnant, no movement, garbage. Just throw it in the general area of the net and hope it magically ends up in there.

And even if you don't want to play using movement, you better have a legitimate sniper shot and be using him. But oh wait he sticks the best shot on the team down on the 4th line with AHLers

I imagine returning from AS break with new coach is possible. But that’s hard to do…especially at this point. He has lost 5/6 dmen, the star center, the big power forward, lost two more players to what appear to be criminal charges, and has been backed up with no depth…and yet we are somehow still alive.

Also, unless you have a Burnette ready in the wings, you’d probably be talking about two coaching changes. One in season, one in off-season. Not sure Travis Green is that guy (Dineen maybe).

So if it happened, I hope Fitzy has a plan.
