laugh Not even close to getting Trevor Zegras out of Anaheim for a bunch of scraps.

Zero chance in hell of Aaron Ekblad ever waiving for Montreal, Especially with Florida closer to a cup run then bottom feeder Montreal. And bedsides Ekblad is out until at least January or February with multiple injuries.

I don’t love either deal, but beyond that this is not a smart time to make these kind of deals! Montreal is rebuilding and needs to be patient as they grow the team. They have a chance right now to suck for 1-2 more years and have a strong enough prospect pool and young core to Cary the team for the next decade but moving this many prospects and young players and picks would help short term but hurt long term.

MTL already has four 1st rounder, an offensive record breaker puck moving Dman and a goon who can play. Zero need for Ekblad.

You want a 6'4" 215lbs right hand physical 1st rounder defenseman with a big shot, who can take a lot of minutes and is prone to injuries? Mailloux is all that.

That’s why he is an MVP candidate.

Not insane, Mailloux has good potential, but it's definitely optimistic.

It's only insane because his jersey won't have a leaf on it...

His pre draft scandal hurt him a lot and soured him in the public eye. Personally I’m not 100% on the details but sharing pics of banging a hot chick is the kind of locker room thing I’ve seen on more than 1 occasion personally. Dumb? Absolutely! But was it the atrocious thing it was made out to be? Not really. He shouldn’t have done it but if he was an average guy who was never going to make money I kinda feel we would have never heard of it.

People's right to privacy doesn't end just because you've gone into a locker room.

I agree. I’m not condoning or justifying what he did I’m just saying he’s not a monster was a dumb kid trying to impress his teammates and it backfired. Now if he posted the pics or video online I would react differently, but in this instance I’d be willing to give him a 2nd chance

Oh yeah, I'm fine with him getting a second chance. I just don't like to see that sort of violation of privacy and trust get minimized, even if that wasn't your intent.
