I've been saying all along that he isn't likely to make it and another year in the AHL could be good for him, but he's making a strong case that he should make the team

I am gun-shy on this with all the prospects the Devils rushed into action the last couple years/ Bahl & Hughes already getting major minutes. There is no risk in playing Nemec in AHL to start the season. If Miller struggles or Nemec plays spectacular go for it.
