Opening Night in Detroit

Description
Seems like they’re trying to get the Larkin Raymond Cat chemistry going. Sticks at least for the first bit of play and if not working, Perron will sub in for Raymond.

Kostin is 100% in the lineup, I think Fischer is the 50/50 guy, and Veleno will play most of the time unless there’s a reason for him not to.
Kasper, Soderblom, Edvinsson etc won’t make it. But they keep Danielson around for up to 9 games, as he’s easily been most impressive and has a pro-ready game. They’ll want to identify areas of improvement before sending him back to junior with the right plan of action.

Depending on Mazur health (so excluding him from this list), I believe first call-ups will be as follows:
-Berggren (despite being a big supporter, I actually think starting the year in GR will be good for him)
-Hanas (has shown a lot during camp imo)
-Soderblom (looked good in prospect tourney as he should but meh so far in camp, needs at least half the season in GR refining his game)
-Kasper (think it’s preferred to just keep him in a stable situation all year and grow his game there, Czarnik would fit in somewhere above)
I think Mazur would have had a real possibility at making this team right out of camp. Unfortunate. I do expect Edvinsson to be up at some point in the season but also think that’s going to be injury reliant.

There’s truly a ton of depth to this team, so if they can stay healthy and keep that depth throughout the lineup, I definitely think playoffs are in the cards.

I have been disappointed in Berggren so far, but I wouldnt send him down for Danielson to get his 9 games. I'm okay with sending down Berggren if Soderblom makes the team, not for a veteran or a juniorplayer

If those two games are enough to get Danielson in them Edvinsson should be there too.

It's all relative take a look at who played for each team. Last nights game was a lot more Hershey Bears than Washington Capitols. I can see Edvinsson before his injury he proved he belongs in the NHL. I sure hope they are monitoring his recovery closer than they did with Vrana.

But why bring in so many UFAs? Is it an excuse to keep the prospects together in GR?

There’s still games to play. It’s just a prediction. But it’s the whole body of work. Training camp, prospect tournament, preseason games. And on top of that, how mature and complete Danielson’s game is. The fact he is good defensively and plays a responsible game that the coaching staff likes gives him that chance.

The ufa thing was bananas, guys like sprong and Kostin is one thing but compher and Holl just look like Chairot and Copp again. Edvinsson is NHL ready and healthy so I don't care who has to sit for him to get minutes but he should get them.

What would happen if he waived Chairot I know everyone here would say no one would want him but would someone claim him.
