Description
Not sure about the trade. Columbus has a lot of dmen so there would have to be something else on their end. Had to be them for the title though.

Columbus would accept if there's no retention.

Columbus doesn't have room for the defensemen they have. Moving one out is the goal, not bringing in another. They also have no roster space for Kubalik. Pass, especially with the retention.

First and foremost, it was Columbus mainly for the Pinto Bean gimmick. I acknowledge there are some logical issues. But personally, I don't think the retention is the problem (moreso the roster spots).

Maybe it should have been Foudy going to Ottawa instead of the pick. But even then Columbus needs to either flip Brannstrom or move a different dman. Pretty far fetched overall.

I did mean to acknowledge the pun, so I'm sorry I didn't. Well done!

Bean to Ottawa could work, as could adding Foudy. I just don't see Columbus biting on Brannstrom or Kubalik considering roster needs. Now, if you've got a spare goalie...

Personally I think Vladar makes some sense for Columbus. He's somewhat proven and has more to give. I don't know why they picked up Martin.

How do you feel about all the additions/extensions at D? With all the talent in the system, seemed like too much to me. I know most of the young guys aren't quite ready, and I'm not usually one to harp on getting guys in the NHL, but it's just really crowded.

I'd much rather have Brannstrom than Bean since he is much better defensively and in transition, better possession stats. He's also younger and hasn't done progressing.

I'm only looking to trade Kubalik for a pick, Columbus might not be the right fit

That said, I never have any idea what the hell Dorion is doing so anything is possible.

It's not a good trade for the Sens, but it gives them what they need in cap space for Pinto and a cheaper dman to fill out to roster.

Even just trading Kubalik is questionable with how tight the cap is. I agree about not wanting to move Brannstrom but I'm exploring a possibility that I haven't seen yet.

In reality, I think Kubalik goes and Pinto takes a little less, but we'll see.

They don't need to make a Brannstrom-Bean swap, just moving Kubalik would be enough

It only seems like they need to shed more cap because Imama in your ACGM who is not NHL caliber and Larsson who is a Top-4 D-man, in Belleville

Sens will start with a 21 men roster unless Norris starts on LTIR, which seems likely at the moment and would also allow to keep everyone

And yes Pinto will sign for less than most expect here (which is 2.5 AAV)
