If Jarnkrok would cost a 3rd to trade, why not just put him on waivers?

Highly unlikely Jarnkrok is waiving to a non playoff west coast team with cap.

If jarnkrok doesn’t bring back a 3rd for the 20 goal scorer we aren’t trading him

if he goes unclaimed then TOR is still over the cap.

i don't follow the Leafs so it could be anyone moved, I'm curious on your thoughts as they're currently over the cap by about 2.3 million and might want to sign Gregor

yeah he could be traded, but I don't think it would cost the leafs a 3rd to unload him. He's a decent player with term.

He's 32 and scored 20 for the first time in his career playing primarily with Marner and Matthews/Tavares.

Grier is in the process of shedding cap on veterans, not adding more. Sharks are in the business of taking a bad contract with 1 year left not 3 and in that process he takes a spot away from Gushchin, Robins or Ekky. Its more than easy to decline this.
