Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

1. Berggren and Veleno redeemed themselves vs. Chicago and are back in. Sprong is going to be a really nice addition this year.
2. Simon is a stud and makes the team; the coaches are smart they can rotate 8 D.
3. Lyon makes the team, Reimer is traded so we don't lose him to waivers. TB loses the pick but gets the certainty of getting him.
4. Kasper is close, but needs AHL seasoning.
5. Elmer is the 1st F callup, also close but out for numbers reasons.
6. Danielson should get the 9 game look and then go to the AHL if they can get the waiver, not sure about fitting him in the roster though.
7. Kostin and Fischer didn't look that interesting, but they aren't necc. supposed to, just bring grit and some mean to the lineup.
8. Tonight's game is going to be brutal but should be interesting how our kids play against the Leaf's studs.

You mean waiver claim NO ONE ahead of TB needs a goalie with the possible exception of SJS. Adding Jones Stalock, Stolarz and possibly Rantaa are also possible to very likely waiver candidates they pass

Daniel Sprong had more goals than Lucas Raymond last season playing half the minutes so it's not just about pre season. Not sure why you think saying he's going to be a good addition is a over reaction. If Simon Edvinsson makes the team they will either trade someone or they will keep eight dman

Big fan of the Ras-Compher-Perron line. They've been smoking hot in the preseason. And all Sprong does is score a goal a night playing 12 minutes.

Velano;s #1 C tonight with Danielson #2 against Toronto's big 4. See how they handle that type of pressure.

You can't give Nate Danielson 9 games and send him down to GR, It's either he plays in Detroit for at least a half of a season or he goes to Brandon. Similar to the Michael Rasmussen situation a few seasons ago.

My understanding is that there is a request waiver that NHL teams can make of their junior teams to allow the player to go to the AHL. From what I found on the interwebs that's what Shane Wright is doing this year? Whether Brandon would agree to that is another story but that's what I was referring to.

Now if Raanta DID end up on waivers, I would take him over Reimer at the same cap hit any day. Adding Stalock or Stolarz over Reimer is a step backwards. Tampa can't expect to keep in the top of the standings with no goaltending for 2 months. Ott/Det/Buff are coming for the old dogs and with no #88 and no replacement of note for TB, that would put them way behind.

Yeah the Sprong part isn't an overreaction, that's just an observation, I really like the looks of him and he seems to play well w/ Fabbri. I think if anyone is traded from the 8 D it would be Maata. I like him but his game is replaceable and his contract isn't too bad.

Agreed but all the others are in the likely tlo very likely category. You haven't answered who ahead of TB in the waivers order would claim him ? Honestly I really don't see anyone.

I agree that no one ahead of Tampa really needs a goalie, I just have seen Raanta in a few "goalie waivers" ACGMs. We need our Father Finn.
