I would hope not, but it's just a little CYA. In the meantime, STL likely has both Elmer and Wallinder playing in the NHL; they're not far away. Plus I already traded the 24 to Calgary in this scenario and didn't want to skip the 1st round two years in a row.

Especially considering we've picked up several goalies that played well before here, sucked here, and now in Ned's case, are playing well again away from here.
Acquiring a good goalie doesn't really help if his defense leaves him out to dry regularly.</div></div>
100% w/ your defense comment. What was the rumored price for NJD? I didn't catch that at the TDL.

I figured he's got a couple of good years in him and partnered w/ Lyon that's a decent 1A/1B if Lyon doesn't burn out. I think Cossa is a year or two away from the show with Augustine a couple of years behind him. Plus that part of the trade would be Husso/2nd/3rd for him which isn't much if Stevie could swing that for a decent vet goalie.

A 1st
A young middle-6 forward,
Two 3rds,
Two solid prospects
All for
A UFA in Sean Durzi
Notable defensive phenom Jacob Trouba (retained oh my god!),
Dumping a contract that is a 1M AAV buyout,
Dumping a contract that doesn't even affect the cap cause it's stuck on LTIR
Dumping a slightly overpaid .5 PPG player
Jeez! How difficult!
In less of an asshole response, the Reinhart signing would undoubtedly age terribly. He has the 2nd highest shooting percentage in the league (unsustainable).</div></div>
I think you spent more time organizing this than I spent doing the entire ACGM but I can paraphrase even more: the wings improve and get younger on D, improve their ability to score goals on F while promoting two youngsters, and improve significantly in goal. All the moves as a whole are to free up cap and roster spots to sign their RFAs, (and possibly overpay for Reinhart)
I'm sure you noticed, but all the secondary scoring dried up when Larkin got hurt, and their D isn't good enough to win 1-0 games so they really need more dynamic players (younger than Kane) and I'm hoping Reinhart provides this along w/ Raymond and Kasper as he develops. The cost of all of that are bits and pieces unlikely to help the team now, if ever. Durzi's an RFA btw.

Obviously I was kidding, c'mon. He will likely hit 20 this year anyway, he's pretty close and so streaky he should get there. I would be surprised if someone doesn't pay Mantha $5M+/year this summer which is crazy.

Remove the 4th and change the prospect to one in the Willander/Mazur range. Probably Willander.</div></div>
Well they'd be getting Husso for $2.5/year-ish too so that's something (if he's healthy) Swayman is getting paid this summer, so I was thinking that him at $6M+ plus Ulmark at $5M is a whole lot to spend in goal.

Yeah I've done that a few times already I wanted to try something different. I didn't say better, just different. Plus Roy is only one dude, they would still need another RD and Holl isn't it.
You're probably right about Reinhart but I thought about either him or Guentzal as a big FA addition.

Anaheim would.be basically paying Fabbri 9 million dollars for a season, go offer this to Chicago or someone else who needs help reaching the cap floor (SJ can't because they're using all their retention spots)</div></div>
For the record, I didn't specify 20 NHL goals, he did score 25 in 30 games w/ Guelph. He might score 20 this year but like I said in my comment above the Wings would need to add a pick to that trade I just didn't feel like editing it.

Maybe the Wings could trade for Whitecloud for a RD3 instead of signing someone like I did in this ACGM. Then no Karlsson trade and instead we sign or trade for a different top 6 F. Guentzel would look good but I don't think we can afford him.

I don't know how I feel about Karlsson, I think his contract is a bit too long for us.
You aren't getting positive value of Holl, gonna need to cough up more.
Maatta likely gets a bit more.
Might be a bit low on the Roy contract.</div></div>
I feel the same way about Karlsson but I'm looking at VGK as a good target since they'll really need to offload a contract or two. Roy (VGK's Roy) is a better contract but less likely for them to unload I think.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazorSeider53</b></div><div>I don't think you get anybody to bite on Holl. I think realistically both he and Petry are either gonna need to be bought out or buried.
Don't see the need to get rid of Maatta only to add Murphy, either. Just make your third pairing Maatta-Chiarot. Maatta has largely been fine as a third pairing D. Chiarot hasn't been terrible this year, but probably does fine with lighter assignments.
It's expensive for a third pairing, yeah. But it's mitigated with Edvinsson on an ELC and Walman at $3.4M.</div></div>
That's a good point w/ Maata, I guess I was looking at taking 2 years of Murphy in a position of need as the cost/benefit of getting rid of one year of Fabbri who is very replaceable. I just can't believe how bad Holl and Petry are every time I watch them, it's brutal.

Vegas has $75M tied up in 17 players as of now for next year, if I added right. (not counting Lehner) You have to assume they're going to want to try to re-sign Hanifan or March, right? Unless they're planning on promoting kids or signing vet min contracts, they'll need to move something to fill the roster. You're right about Roy being a good contract though, that's why I put that blurb about Karlsson at the top.
I disagree about Fabbri, he's a good depth scorer and if he is hurt, they lose a 4th or 5th, big deal.

Hey they're playing within the rules masterfully. Now if I supported a team that was a realistic cup contender I'd be a little butthurt that they didn't try to pull a similar move. Why not if it's in the rules, right? This summer will be tough for Vegas but if they have another parade, who cares...
