Description
Promoting some young players, adding a couple of Roy's, because that wouldn't be confusing at all. Poaching some talent from VGK because they're going to have some tough cap decisions this summer. Considered W Karlsson but he has a NMC and not sure he really wants to go from the desert to Michigan winters. But, like I said VGK are going to lose some roster players, esp if they want to re-sign anyone. If Fabbri can stay healthy (big if) he'd be a great add to a young Chicago team. Goaltending is still a big question mark, but peak Husso and Lyon, both healthy can be a decent tandem. Called up Mazur for a 13th F but could re-sign Fischer instead for ~$1.1M. Obviously trading Holl would be preferred to buying him out, so hoping for a good showing from him for the last 20 games to find some offseason interest.

Hawks will give you a conditional 3rd. The condition is the 3rd only moves if fabbri plays in at least 65 games. If not than Detroit gets future considerations.

Not sure Stevie Y goes for that. Maybe a 5th that goes to a 3rd if he plays 50-ish or gets 30 points, something like that.

Both teams pass. Vegas doesnt have to do anything in the offseason, theyll just let marchy walk if he wont take a sweetheart deal, and with roys contract thats probably the last guy they move. Chicagos not paying for an oft injured forward when they can keep their pick and sign a FA in the offseason.

Vegas has $75M tied up in 17 players as of now for next year, if I added right. (not counting Lehner) You have to assume they're going to want to try to re-sign Hanifan or March, right? Unless they're planning on promoting kids or signing vet min contracts, they'll need to move something to fill the roster. You're right about Roy being a good contract though, that's why I put that blurb about Karlsson at the top.

I disagree about Fabbri, he's a good depth scorer and if he is hurt, they lose a 4th or 5th, big deal.

Sorry but your logic re: the Hawks is flawed. They DON'T have a ton of roster spots to fill. After they re-sign their own RFA's, and assuming they dont get #1 overall and draft Celebrini, Hawks likely need (1) a top line W to play w/ Bedard and Kurashev (2) a 2C if it's not Celebrini (3) a 3rd pair RD and maybe a 4th line C. Fabbri doesn't really fill any of those needs. And it's unlikely Hawks would spend a 3rd or a 4th for one season of Fabbri even if he did fill a need. Hawks aren't going to be buyers this off season unless it's a younger player who fits their timeline. Again, Fabbri ain't it.

What was it about the market values at the trade deadline that makes you think Fabbri is anything but a cap dump? The only way you convince CHI to take that contract is if you are paying them to take it. Period. If not, find another team.
