not gonna lie, i really dont like what guerin did with this team. i though he would be someone who would bring changes, but he's pretty much doing the bare minimum.

Doing the bare minimum is the S.O.P. until the buyouts go down until after 2025. Expecting anything more than that is foolhardy.

Extending Zuccarello at that price and term is really good. It buys him the time necessary to wait for the kids to become NHL ready and push for a roster spot in a couple of years.

Foligno is and will always be a pretty big overpayment. Both in term and cost. But Guerin himself more or less admitted that he knows it but didn't want other teams to be able to poach him away from the org. He feels Foligno's off-ice impact is too important to the org to lose.
