Hopefully playing 2RW with Stamkos lets him show off his offensive ability a little more and he finally start producing.

Merela should be the 1st call up, but since he doesn't require waivers, and Tampa rarely has guys skip Syracuse entirely, he makes the most sense to be sent down. He could still make the opening night roster though, if they don't see Watson as a fit.

I agree this is the way to go. Merela is solid but he's exempt so don't risk someone else to waivers and leave him as the first call up option. I think Watson has earned himself a spot on the roster. He'll start as the 13th but man he'd be a great option to add to the insane amount of sandpaper we have accumulated. It's Barre-Boulet's time to get a look. I really like the lines you've got here and it's clear you've been watching unlike some "Tampa" fans who are spewing garbage on CF. Lines look killer fr. Loved Paul with Stammer last year, and that 3rd line has looked excellent in preseason. This is the way to go 100%
