Not a fan of spending a this kind of package on an aging rental who seems to have injury issues. I like Tanev but dont think this is it.

Yeah if injuries get him this year I’m sure they kick something back but we don’t have any seconds to spend so this kinda is what it is

The guy is worth a first all day long he’s been top 3 defensive defender for the past 3 years no other player has done that Brodie only did it twice but he was the best defensive defender last year and tanev didn’t do that

Yeah I think they value jarnkrok way too much right now, tanev is great but he's only defensive so if you can find a cheap guy to simply play defense similar to how schenn played last year it's not worth losing jarnkrok now with Lafferty out the door too....if Robertson was better right now he could play the 3rw but he's not reliable.

mmmm if im spending a 1st on a top 4 Dman

The one rental I would be okay for a 1st = Demelo but other than that someone with term is who I want

A 33 soon 34 year old with 2 months left and who has injury troubles is not something I want to throw a 1st at. Hes good when healthy but whats the guarantee he stays that way

Basically what Toronto did with McCabe would be the best utilization of a 1st. especially considering we dont got one for 2025.

Won't happen unless Calgary is out of the race which is pretty unlikely in the West

I don’t think they have a shot in the west and they didn’t make the playoffs last year either

I'd rather go after Zadorov... Or Trouba... Or any big punishing defender that hits like a freight train... Would scare the s**t out of anyone they play which will help the Leafs during must win games

Change the first to a 3rd. Leafs aren't trading another first round pick for anyone that doesn't have term. imo

Who do you think is better? Flames have one of the best d-cores in the league and were easily a playoff team last year with even half decent goaltending. Huberdeau isn't a 55 point player either so scoring will almost certainly go up

They do have a great d core but Edmonton Vegas and Seattle there’s no way they beat them and that just leaves LA and LA got in last year I think they do again

Edmonton and Vegas yes. Seattle vastly overachieved last year. Their 4th line alone had 109 points last year and they lost both Geekie and Sprong from that line. Also McCann isn't going to be scoring at that 19% again. Simply unsustainable
