Initial Creation Date: Oct. 11, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would you offer for each of the 5 below players?

Keep this realistic, take into account the player's value to the Canucks, as well as contract duration and expiry status.

However, keep in mind that in these scenarios, the Canucks are actively tearing down the roster and the player wants to leave.
You must also assume as a result, that you are bidding against multiple other teams and the Nucks will accept the highest/best offer.

Some selected 22/23 stats for reference:

Elias Pettersson - 39 goals, 102 points in 80 games. 89 blocked shots. 5 short-handed goals.
Andrei Kuzmenko - 39 goals, 71 points in 81 games. 27 years old. UFA in 2025.
Conor Garland - 17 goals (15 even strength), 46 points in 81 games. Average TOI: 15:07 26 years old. UFA in 2026.
Anthony Beauvillier - 9 goals (6 even strength), 20 points in 33 games. 26 years old. UFA in 2024.
Thatcher Demko - .901 save % in 32 games. Previously .915% in both 21/22 and 20/21. 27 years old. UFA in 2026.

Pettersson- 2 1sts, Chytil, Laf, Schneider, Othmann, Goodrow for cap reasons

Not huge sexy names, but replaces the production of him. And gives you Schneider who’s got top 4 upside and Othmann, who’s our 2nd best prospect. Likely gets beat, but it’s a solid offer. Anymore and it wouldn’t make sense for us (honestly it probably doesn’t make sense as is to give up all of that for 1 player, but that’s what I think it’d be in a bidding war scenario).

Kuzmenko isn't driving his line like Dach & Caufield can do
Take out Pettersson and he is a 50-60 points winger

If I was the Flames and Lindholm walked away, I'd trade for Pettersson

I'd send Zary, Ruzicka, 2 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks for the years that follow those and Vladar (if Vancouver let's DeSmith go after this season)

Pelletier - Pettersson - Corronato
Huberdeau - Kadri - Sharangovich
Dube - Backlund - Mangiapane
Coleman - MEP - Klapka
this would probably be my forward lines to start the next season.
If Vancouver says no, tough bounce

For Columbus:

Elias Pettersson - Too expensive in both acquistition and cap, plus his agent hates Columbus
Andrei Kuzmenko - Nothing. Good player, just redundant to the Blue Jackets.
Conor Garland - If you retain a good bit and add a sweetener for taking the length of the contract, one of the RD being squeezed out
Anthony Beauvillier - Peeke straight up, Boqvist with a small add on your side
Thatcher Demko - the is the one I'd target for sure. You'd have to take Elvis back, but a top-3 protected first, the 2025 second (as the 2024 is conditional and one of the two years is going to Philadelphia already) and let's say Corson Ceuelemans. Maybe add Peeke or Boqvist? Would be willing to negotiate forther.

As a Nucks fan, here are some mock returns I'd be cool with
Petey(w/ extension): Young top-six center(Dach, Tomasino, etc.), young RHD(J. Harris, Fabbro), S/A tier prospect(Farell, L'Heuruex), 1st rounder, 2nd rounder and another pick(either 1st or 2nd depending on who we get)
Garland(990k retained): 3rd rounder
Beauvillier: Either a 1 for 1 or two 4ths
Kuzy: 1st, 5th, A-tier prospect
Demko: Young goalie(UPL), S-tier prospect, 1st, 7th

Cole would score no matter with who he is
Dach was great last year with Suzuki & Caufield AND without Suzuki & Caufield
Kuzmenko has one year left, he could leave after

Cole can score.
Dach wasn’t that good w/o Suzuki last year
The deal would have to come with an extension
