Anaheim has a need for Lyubushkin to guide Mintyukov development, we'd have to replace him if we traded him. Conversely our top 9 RW this season are Terry, Strome, and Silfverberg. Maybe next season we'd have room, but not this year. And yes, Garlands better than Silf, but we're not putting a 5 million guy on the 4th line.

There's just not room on the roster for him.

Canucks shouldn't do that trade with retention.

I agree with this. IF we are downgrading on the player retention has to be out of the question.

Like I could see Canucks taking some bad cap back for this year, but the Canucks can't afford to have dead cap for the next two years with OEL on the books.
