Yeah, he's cheeks. Fine as a 3rd pairing, maybe even 2nd pair guy with support, but Leaf fans seem to really insistent to stick him on the top pair with Reilly and I promise it would be a complete disaster to do that. But also, I've seen a lot of trades recently where Columbus retains and that's just not gonna happen. In a world where Peeke is being acquired as a desired asset (which is apparently reality based on ACGMs haha), there's no chance that CBJ put 3 years of retention on their books when several young players are gonna be due in the coming offseasons and they're already fairly tight with the cap.

Toronto loses the Dallas trade value wise. And I just don’t see the need from Dallas’ side other than winning the value side of it. Gren and Nils are very similar defensemen. DeBoer likes complimentary d pairs so this would throw off the balance. It would also likely hurt the penalty kill. Jarnkrok is an offensive upgrade over Faksa, but I think Faksa is a more useful player. I think he’s also capable of more even strength offense if playing with stronger line mates. Something Nill addressed this offseason
