Stützle is flashy like Zegras?

“Flashy” is really just a deriding way of saying “skilled”…both Zegras and Stützle are elite young players who can absolutely help teams win. Byfield has size, and potential, but is a loooong way from those other two.

"Flashy" means that they may end up on the highlight reel every night, but ultimately they're not helping their teams make the playoffs. Compare that with a guy like Anze Kopitar, who is anything but flashy, but is consistent and clutch and able to put a team on his shoulders and drag them to the playoffs.

Zegras and Stutzle aren't Kopitar. The Kings are doing everything they can to make sure Byfield will be.

If moving Ullmark, Danault is probably the more realistic target. Otherwise maybe try including Swayman.

Swayman is worth more than Ullmark at his age, production, and potential

If Ullmarks numbers stay above a .925 for this season this is a very fair trade. If he drops to a .920-.925 the 1st can become a 2nd.

I really don’t think these teams are a good match. I prefer Lysell to Turcotte, though both have some disappointing aspects to their game and I would understand some may disagree.

My perspective is pretty simple. I see no reason to trade Ullmark or Swayman unless the return is very good. I like the luxury of having two goaltenders that can put up over .915 save percentages and excellent high and medium danger metrics.

I could see a trade with Ullmark, but likely not with the Kings

Yeah. And there is nothing wrong with taking more time for development, but I’d probably say he’d be anywhere from 5 to 11 depending on your view of production vs potential.

Sounds about right to me

Stützle

Sanderson
Mercer
Lundell

Raymond
Jarvis
Drysdale

Quinn
Perfetti
Peterka
Guhle
Lafreniere
Holtz
Rossi

I would see Byfield anywhere among that final tier…so 8 to 15 range. (Next group after would be guys who could still move up…Greig, Faber, Foerster etc).

Byfield has looked like a man possessed so far this season.

Don't forget, last season he had a severe case of Covid and lost 20 pounds at the beginning of the season. He also played the entire season with two sprained wrists.

The Kings are all in on this kid. If the Kings could take a mulligan on the 2020 draft knowing what they know now, I think they'd still take Byfield over Stutzle.

If the Kings had a do over they would take Stutzle hands down. Don't kid yourself. You are letting personal bias cloud your mind. I am not an Ottawa fan but Stutzle is a stud and he will be for the next 10-15 years. Proof will be in the pudding.
