Guessing this is just to make cap space for Pinto to sign?

CBJ aren't really in need of forwards, but I wouldn't mind this at all since the cost is do cheap and he's up after the season. 5th round for a decent upgrade somewhere in the bottom 6 is a nice deal for CBJ.

OTT would still be over the cap I believe. Since he is an RFA and signed after the season began, his AAV is different in the first and second year. His non pro-rated cap hit in 2023-24 would be $2,460,000 if they optimally split the salary between years 1 & 2 and you'd be over the cap by $42,380 based on this roster configuration. This is my understanding but if there is a flaw lmk, pretty possible I'm wrong haha
