Because we aren't paying to obtain lindholm and paying him long term when we can keep all our assets. We just extended almost our whole core and have several internal options

Because Lindholm is marginally better then Mitts at this point, if even at all

Heh. Let's not get crazy here. Lindholm plays against top competition (and like 3-4 minutes more per game) and his game is significantly more complete.

Primary points per 60 were both 1.9 last year. Lindholm CF 57% to Mitts 54%, fenwick numbers close. Taken into consideration that Mitts was drug into the black hole known as victor oloffson for half a year, and once he got away his numbers went off, I don’t think it’s that strange to say a 25 year old Mitts is at least a better bet over the next couple of years than a 29 year old Lindholm. Also given that when Tage got hurt, Mitts put up 17 in 12 games or something along those lines, and has picked up right where he left off.

All this to say the difference isn’t a first rounder, first round prospect playing well, and Krebs.

Let's try this again: Lindholm plays against top lines every night, Middlestadt does not. And all the on-ice analytics in the world are not going to close the gap in these two players. To even suggest Middlestadt is as good as Lindholm now is nuts.

I’ll concede. Possibly (did) got overly zealous with the ridiculous assertion from the actual proposal. It’s also nuts to think the difference is 2 first and 1 second round assets. Agreed?

That we agree on. Lindholm is a UFA, he's not worth all that.
