I realize that it maybe an overpay, but how else do you induce someone to make a trade they don't necessarily want?
I don't think the Canucks are any worse with these trades and both players are 25 year old RFAs. I would like to keep Garland, but apparently he wants a change.
Kudryavtsev and the second hurt but the Canucks are getting back 2 former mid first rounders (12th and 15th OA).
Don't forget they would also get the money to sign Bear.

Just because McLeod and Kinin were 1st rounders 7 years ago doesn’t mean they still have the value of that. They’re both bottom 6 players
