Saros starts with Knies and a 1st. Top 5 goalies don’t become available too often, and especially with more than 1 year on their deal and even more so at a low cap hit. It would be out of Toronto’s price range to acquire him and they’d be outbid pretty quickly if he became available

NSH declines. TOR is not a good trade partner for Saros with NSH. Its mostly because there isn't a lot that TOR has that NSH would want for Saros. NSH would need top end center/forward talent and/or top end RD talent. The current deal is to much of a "quantity over quality" deal, which NSH is not interested in.

A deal I would consider is Saros would be Knies, Niemelä, Samsonov, and 2024 1st and another pick that is 3rd round or higher. Saros is the only top 5 goalie even remotely on the market, so any team who wants him will have to pay handsomely for him. That said, I think there are several other teams that would beat that offer as they can give NSH more of what they want, being top end center talent. Also, TOR looks like they already have a stud in goal with Woll, so I don't think Saros would be a crazy value add for the long term.

I’d pitch in Fraser Minten or Ethan Cowan as centre prospects but Knies is a no.
