<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-Rangers pass on this. I don't see them moving Kakko at the deadline, especially not for rentals. Doesn't make sense for a team with Cup aspirations to trade away NHL-level depth at the deadline.

-Flames pass. Chychrun is a tough comp because he had made it known he wanted out; Andersson has done no such thing to this point. Abruzzese and Timmins have minimal value; and while I think there's good value in Niemela/1st/2nd/3rd, I think you're not realizing that the Flames would need to be blown away by a deal to move Andersson, and this doesn't really hit that level.

-Wild pass. Maroon has won 3 rings and is swimming in playoff experience. Minnesota can do much better than swapping him for a fairly anonymous 13th forward.</div></div>

Appreciate the well thought through analysis here.

I think the Calgary trade is one they have to think on but I can see your reasoning on them passing. I agree with CJ who said on his podcast that he heard they were considering it cause they don't expect to be competitive before he's a UFA and this might be his max value.

For Rangers. I agree actually. I just think with the price of Cs being so high and Tarasenko pretty much being the only W who'd have more value that Bert on the market if the leafs sold him that this deal value wise is good for the Rangers. Now two weeks ago it seemed they were actively listening on Kakko and a few analysts put his value around a 2nd. I just think he's a bad player to move for the Rangers. Like Robertson has way more points in less games so that's the value you are looking at. I think for Toronto he's a good target since in the short term he can jump onto. Shutdown line and next year you could try him in the top 6.

McMann isn't an anonymous 13th forward. Few analysts said Edmonton offered more for him than Lafferty at the start of the season. That's part of the reason Toronto waited till in season to waive him. If you look at when he was waived, he was injured and no team had the cap or roster space without making a move to get him. They protected him. Maroon just was traded for a 7th. Not saying that is his value but he isn't fetching more than a 5th. McMann makes sense for Minnesota, he is someone they can resign and they need that depth next year with their cap situation. Again maybe he gets moved for a 5th/6th and same for Maroon. But I think the deal makes sense for a Wild team that isn't competitive this year but I'm not gonna argue over 5th-7th rounders lol. That's essentially a minor league deal.
