Neither Hanifin or Parayko are waiving for Toronto, And Conroy isn't retaining on any of his pending UFAs.

If he's not signed no, it won't cost that. Orlov last year went for a 1st and a 3rd I think. Getting a 1st and either a decent prospect or another few picks could be your best offer. Deadline prices haven't been as silly recently as in years past.

Analytically he is worse defensively than every Leafs D aside from Rielly. Parayko 4 years ago was great. Today he's a cap dump.

I don't understand how none of you morons that believe these cards are the end all be all can comprehend that the Leafs are a good offensive team and the Blues are very much not so. Alot of that is weighted by offensive stats. That's not paraykos role. And the Blues have a pretty bad offense. And have for about 2-3 years. When miraculously the decline started happening.

And what people like you don't understand is that analytics accounts for your competition and teammates.

Players analytics don't magically change when their team gets better/worse. They also don't change when they get traded.

They are measured against how your teammates perform when your on/off the ice.

Oh so you mean the guy who has a 37% ozs percentage because the rest of the defense cannot play defense has a less of an offensive impact than say Krug or Faulk who draw starts in the offensive zone 60% of the time?

I don't care about his offensive deficiencies. I'm saying he isn't even good defensively. Benoit, Lagesson and Liligren have significantly better defensive metrics.

He's 62nd percentile defensively. On any random team he'd be their 3rd best defensive D. When he brings no offense that means that at best he's likely a #4D realistically he's a #5/6. At $6.5M for 7 more years on the wrong side of 30 nobody should want him without a significant sweetener.

Aggressively clueless is no way to go through life, man. But you go pretend those "controls" on their formulas aren't entirely circular. Its adorable.

It weighs both offence and defence. And he's not very good at either. Case in point, how he just let McMann drive the net unimpeded on TO's first goal. Parayko is not an elite shutdown defenceman. He's a decent 2nd pair guy if he has a better partner

It's quite the departure for you. Branching out from aggressively attacking leaf fans to going after blues fans. Still needlessly angry and ridiculous though

You can make up any self justification you want but it's very clear for anyone who isn't a homer or just hopelessly enamoured with size, Parayko isn't what he's billed as.

In that play, Mcmann was on the left halfwall. Where Leddy checked someone else and didn’t recover. Schenn then failed miserably to play any semblance of defense on Mcmann. Kyrou floated in the slot and Parayko stayed in front of the net. Where there was a Leads forward Kampf I believe angling towards the net. If you watch the replay I’m almost positive that the puck went in off of Paraykos stick which was tied up with Kampfs stick.

If you want to blame the guy who was the 4th player in the sequence to need to pick up the player, by all means do. But let’s not act like McMann solely drove one on one past Parayko and Parayko was dog **** on the play

Gotta actually watch the games brother, cards cherry pick stats and can make anyone even McDavid look bad

He was right in front of the net watching mcman come towards the net and when he cut out front, he just watched the play while McMann got 2 wacks at it. It's an isolated play, I and I acknowledge that but it's a good example of not stellar defence. He should have protected the goalie there not just stand and watch.

Once again, just one play. However, it's an example and the provided advance stats which show him as above average defensively but in no way elite further paint the picture much different than you guys like to say

Loses rational arguments. Starts bashing others in hopes that they will buy his snake oil.

Nobody with a brain who can read analytics or watches hockey thinks Parayko is more than an average DFD with no offensive upside. His career trajectory is pretty much identical to Vlasic. Nobody is arguing he wasn't got 3/4 years ago. He was a top 5 DFD in the league. Now he isn't and in 2/3 years from now like Vlasic today it will be one of the worst contracts in the league when he's an AHL quality D with $6.5x4 left.

Maybe some old time GM like Lou takes a shot (Islanders don't really need D) but realistically unless you are dumping him nobody should touch him. Enjoy him as a Blues fan for a few years then feel free to turn on him when it becomes so obvious even your delusions can't hide that he doesn't belong in the NHL.

Ha! Starts bashing on others! From the crew that walks into threads bashing everyone, calling names left and right, everyone is a stupid homer troll idiot. AND has meltdowns over every rejected trade idea, no matter how glaringly obvious it is, lashing out like maniacs, slinging strawmen like ninja stars.

It's honestly just sad when so many people are that divorced from reality and drunk on their own imagined grandeur in a land where they're always the thankless heroes defending themselves against ruthless attacks!! Things like rational arguments hold no purchase in this kingdom!!! Tish tosh!!!

HILARIOUS.

We all know you only see the blues players behind rose tinted glasses. Your own specific "eye test" is all you ever go by. Zero supporting evidence. And when faced with supporting statistics proving what your are saying is without a doubt flawed or just blatantly wrong, you just say, "watch the games!" That's the epitome of "I have no argument but I refuse to accept defeat!". You have nothing, haven't for a long while and likely never will.
