If Garland can't be an effective player in the top 9 at the least, then this move is terrible, setting up the team for failure for the duration of his contract. Maybe you didn't bother to fix lines, but at the end of the day, unless they are sure Garland can contribute in the top 6, they are better off letting that Bertuzzi contract expire or trading him for a rental.

Where is Vancouver getting the extra $1 million + in cap space this exchange would require? Seeing as how the Canucks are into their LTIR room now.

I'd do a Beauvillier swap but there's zero chance I'm giving up significant assets for Bertuzzi right now especially if they gotta add cap
