It's alot of fun speculating about Brad making a trade with his former team but looking at the mess he left Calgary in, Conroy has no motivation to be fair with Brad.

He probably just hangs up the phone unless Nylanders on the table. There's 30 other teams we can get better deals from, Brad has to pay a "you forked us" tax.

100% Agreed. I’m sure they’re still friends, but when it comes to making a deal, Conroy should be extremely cautious with Brad and make him pay more

I gotta assume Brodie doesn't want to come back. I assume most players don't want to come here and to have any chance of attracting talent, Huberdeau and Kadri are going to have to start looking like they're good to play with. Nobodies getting cookies and padding their stats right now.

We should be the ones acquiring Duclair and pushing for Reinhart. Maybe that would get Huberdeau back. I mean we’re too heavily invested in him to not invest more to help him out

Put Coleman & Mangiapane with Kadri and I think he’ll be okay. Otherwise Zary & Duehr are the only two other players I’ve seen do well with him at Centre, so one of them + Coleman. Failing that, move him to LW or RW like we both agree might work out and be better for him

We need to move on from anybody not wanting to be here, including Lindholm, Hanifin and/or Backlund if he’s still unsure. New Blood & Energy is what this Team really needs the most of.

Yes I would take it, if it's the best I can get, it's good value. I would take less value for more guaranteed scoring.

Whoa, wait a second here. Just for the record, @TOR is not being honest about or factually representing what I said

I said TOR’s 2024-1st + 2025-3rd wouldn’t be enough for Tanev 50% retained because it will easily be beat given the amount of demand there will be for his services. They also wanted AJ Greer for a couple throw-in AHL nobodies

I said Liljegren is a piece of interest that we’d like as part of the deal, but that we would need more than Liljegren now, because Liljegren is injured and therefore would not be a usable replacement player and would need a pick to turn around and acquire a replacement for Tanev

Tanev is obviously the far better D-Man than Liljegren right now, but their value has to be pretty similar given Liljegren’s age and RFA status.

Anyways, feel free to check the thread out for yourself and you decide, but I don’t appreciate what TOR is trying to do here and I’m certain we’ll get a much better offer than the ones TOR Fans are trying to ram down our throats daily and just want us to accept on here:

The concept that a 24yr old RFA with team control who was having A very good season has less value then a 34 yr old UFA is laughable, he has a high ankle sprain not broken ankle, the chances of him getting to full form is high

I’m not trying to sell anything, I’n saying so far this season Liljegren was playing Top 4 minutes & doing very well in them not last season, he is barely scratching the surface of what he can do, he’s finally getting that chance to flourish in the Top 4 & he was until getting injured, if you think he has less value then a rental 34yr old Chris Tabev then idk what to tell you, All I was trying to say was Lilly isn’t being moved for Tanev & Lilly has better value from a team standpoint & a market standpoint

I know what you're saying, but you're wrong, Tanev is far and away the better player, he has greater trade value because of it. Lillypad isn't good, or he's as good as he's always been, he's not trustworthy. You think he's great because you've never had a real D core. He's a 7th D on most teams in the league.

Why can’t Lilly get better?, he’s only 24 & had a great start to the season, looking like he was about to take a while step in terms of his development,idk how that’s debatable, he’s had some very good statistics & the play on ice from the eye test has backed it up. Maybe rn Tanev has slightly better value but that isn’t up to me or you, It’s up to our GMs, I have my opinion & you have yours which is completely fair on both our parts, but I do know one thing , if Tanev is acquired by Toronto I can be at least 85% sure Lilly isn’t moving in that deal
