Cowan is exactly what this team needs right now, he's playing phenomenally in London. All heart, grit, and doesn't take a shift off

I'm so glad he is being developed by Mark and Dale Hunter, two old school role models that Cowan can learn from. I honestly see him being a Travis Konency / Nazem Kadri type of player

What rule? I thought he just can’t play in the AHL and technically he is just loaned to London at the moment.

Under 20 years old, as soons as a player is sent down to any team in the CHL, it's for the entire year.
Unless there is a medical emergency, then he may be called up for a few games.

So is it the same for Minten? Makes sense though or teams could just shuttle the guys back and forth, protects the CHL.

That and at the CHL probably doesn't want teenagers having to move their lives every month or too. Same reason they have strict limits on trades, especially for young guys

It is precisely to protect the CHL, and at least have a fanbase, stability
